In addition to doing research, since I graduated from university in 1998 I have been involved in conservation and education. In fact, I have always believed that it is important to share my passion for the natural world so other people can learn about it and, consequently, care for it. Over the course of the last two decades I have led and managed nature conservation camps in Italy and Greece with WWF, Chelon Conservation and CTS, and since I moved to the Canary Islands I have been leading hiking tours in collaboration with tour operators and independently. The archipelago in general, and Tenerife in particular, is famous as a beach destination with its hotels and resorts, but not many people know that each island is a true hiker’s paradise with an incredible diversity of landscapes and habitats from desert to sub-tropical forest to high mountain to volcanoes. Each island is different from the other and it is worth visiting, either as a stand-alone vacation or combined with other ones.
If you want to discover the natural wonders of the Canary Islands with your family, friends or even by yourself, you can send me an email with the plan you have in mind and I will create an itinerary to show you the most beautiful places of the archipelago!
